Music Mad – Terms & Conditions

1. Agreement
By booking lessons, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. These govern your use of our services and your relationship with Music Mad.
2. Services & Booking

We offer 1:1 music lessons (e.g. guitar, singing) as per the package and schedule you select.

When you book, you choose a requested time slot. This is not a guarantee; we will confirm your final lesson time after speaking with you.

Teachers’ availability is restricted to the designated days (e.g. Mondays & Thursdays for guitar).

After the €50 deposit is paid, we will finalise your timetable and notify you of your confirmed time.
3. Payment & Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of €50 is required to secure your booking.

The remainder of the fee must be paid by the week lessons begin.

If full payment is not received, Music Mad reserves the right to cancel or suspend lessons.
4. Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refunds
-
Cancellation by the client:
• If you cancel more than 10 working days before lessons begin, you may receive a refund or credit (excluding the deposit).
• If you cancel within 10 working days of the start date, no refund (or full fee applies).
• Failure to attend a lesson without notice will be treated as cancellation. -
Rescheduling:
• Requests to reschedule must be made in writing/email.
• If made more than 5 working days in advance, we will try to accommodate without penalty.
• Last-minute changes may not always be possible. -
Cancellation by Music Mad:
• If we cancel a lesson or course (e.g. teacher unavailable), you’ll receive either a full refund or a credit toward future lessons.
5. GDPR & Data Protection

Music Mad is committed to complying with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 in Ireland. Multilaw+1

Data we collect: name, contact details, date of birth, musical interests, and any other information you provide in the course of registration.

Purpose & lawful basis: We process your data to deliver lessons, manage bookings, communicate with you, and comply with legal obligations.

Storage & retention: We retain your personal data for as long as necessary for service delivery and legal obligations (e.g. accounting).

Third parties: We do not share your personal data with third parties except where necessary (e.g. payment processors) and only under strict confidentiality.

Your rights: You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, object, and withdraw consent.

Data breaches: In case of a breach posing a risk to your rights, we will notify the Data Protection Commission and affected individuals within 72 hours.

Children’s data: If the student is under 16, parental/guardian consent is required for processing their personal data.
6. Liability & Disclaimers

Music Mad will use reasonable skill and care in providing lessons.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses (e.g. lost income, missed opportunities) except in cases of gross negligence or breach of statute.

Lessons are provided subject to availability; occasional changes may occur (e.g. teacher illness) and we will endeavour to give notice or arrange make-ups.
7. Intellectual Property

Any teaching materials (sheet music, backing tracks, exercises) are licensed to you for personal educational use only. You may not reproduce or distribute them without permission.
8. Communications & Notices

We communicate with you via email, phone, or SMS.

Notices or changes to these Terms will be notified with reasonable notice and posted on our website.
9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by Irish law.

Any disputes shall be resolved through negotiation first; if that fails, matters may be referred to the relevant Irish judicial system or mediation.
10. Severability & Amendments
-
If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it does not affect other provisions’ validity.

We may amend these Terms, always giving reasonable notice to clients.

Welcome to Music Mad. By booking lessons with us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Bookings

All lessons must be booked through our online booking system.

You will be asked to select a preferred time slot. This is a requested preference only — your final time will be confirmed directly with us once your booking and deposit are received.

Teacher availability is limited to specific days (e.g. Mondays and Thursdays for guitar).
2. Payments

A €50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.

The remaining balance must be paid the week lessons begin.

Lessons are priced at €30 per class unless otherwise stated.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

By the student:
-
Cancel more than 10 working days before lessons begin → refund/credit (excluding deposit).

Cancel within 10 working days → no refund.
-
Missed lessons without notice count as cancellations.

Rescheduling:
-
Requests must be made by email.
-
More than 5 working days’ notice → we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Less than 5 days’ notice → not always possible.

By Music Mad:
-
If we need to cancel (e.g. illness), we’ll offer a full refund or a make-up lesson/credit.

4. GDPR & Data Protection
We respect your privacy and comply with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect: your name, contact details, and information needed to provide lessons.

How we use it: to manage bookings, deliver lessons, process payments, and communicate with you.

Sharing: we never share your details with third parties except for essential services (e.g. secure payment providers).

Your rights: you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your data at any time.

Children’s data: parental/guardian consent is required for under-16s.

5. Lesson Materials
Any sheet music, exercises, or resources we provide are for your personal educational use only. They may not be copied or distributed without permission.
6. Liability
We deliver lessons with care and professionalism but are not responsible for indirect losses (e.g. missed opportunities, travel costs).
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Irish law. Disputes will be resolved in accordance with Irish courts, after first attempting amicable resolution.
Music Mad reserves the right to update these Terms with reasonable notice.
